About Nick’s Italian Restaurant

There’s a reason Nick’s Italian was voted Best Italian Restaurant by Scottsdale Airpark News magazine in 2009 and by Scottsdale Life magazine in 2003. For more than 15 years, the institution has been serving housemade pastas, pizzas, and seafood dishes that taste straight out of Italy—but that’s not to say the restaurant has gone unchanged over that time. In the years since it started, Nick’s has grown to three locations, each of which brings something special to the table. Read on to learn what you can find at each:

  • Nick’s at Frank Lloyd Wright: The flagship location keeps it casual with family-style eats and a family vibe. Here, you can pair a ricotta and mozzarella calzone with a beer or a plate of pesto penne with a glass of wine.
  • Nick’s at Pima: The more upscale of the three, this Nick’s makes itself a great date-night spot thanks to dishes such as scallops romano and veal chops followed by a shared dessert of housemade tiramisu.
  • Nick’s at Tatum: A large patio, daily sangria, and atmosphere laced with laughing gas make this location a great site for socialization. While soaking up the evening breezes, share a Mediterranean pizza, topped with feta, spinach, sun-dried tomatoes, artichokes, and kalamata olives.”

We are located in the back, first door on the right.

if you are interested in hair color, you can schedule an appointment if you come in for a trim. Please remember hair needs to be shoulder length or shorter, and color techniques available are limited.

We are looking forward to seeing you!”

I was a little bit nervous but my 13 year old son was badly in need of a haircut and since he’s been asking for a buzz cut anyway we decided he could be a guinea pig for all of us.  He ended up with a really nice looking haircut, no follow up buzz cut required. They took a lot of time with him and even did a hot towel treatment at the end. The whole process took about 30-40 minutes.

Here’s some more information about being a hair model:

“By being a Model, you are helping to train new and experienced Cosmetologists who work at SuperCuts® Salons in your area in refresher courses or new techniques and procedures that they will take back to their Salon and improve the cuts and coloring services that they provide there. The Training Instructor will be coaching and inspecting what the quality of your services constantly.

As a Model, you should:

  • Prepare to spend more time than usual for your haircut or coloring. Be patient. Some haircuts may take between 30 to 60 minutes, and colorings may take more than twice the amount of time as you would normally expect.
  • Be open to giving and receiving feedback. Some of the training involves sales techniques so your stylist may be asking you questions, or recommending products. Be prepared to give constructive criticism to the Instructor and Stylist if you are asked, or if you feel it is necessary.
  • Please understand that you cannot purchase products when you are inside the Training Studio. The Studios DO not have a Cash Register, nor change. Come prepared. You MAY purchase products from the Salon if the Training Studio is located inside the Salon.
  • Gratuities are gratefully accepted by the Stylists for your services, but are NOT required. If you are going to tip, do it just as if you were inside your local Salon. Tips are not necessary for your instructors. Again, Training Studios are not licensed to sell products or handle money.
  • If you are going to bring children to the Studio, please make sure that you bring someone else along to watch them while you are in your session for their safety. Children should not play with the equipment or chairs, and should wait in the waiting area.
  • Yes, we encourage your children to get a haircut, but we ask that they should be able to sit still in the chair for a longer than normal period of time.
  • Complimentary Haircuts and Colorings are given on specific days and times. We DO NOT give haircuts and colorings outside of these times.
  • You are strongly encouraged to join your local Training Studio’s Mailing List for advanced notice of days and times for upcoming classes.”
