My Favorite Deals at the Grocery Stores This Week of Valentine’s Day!

grocery

Love is in the air and it’s time once again for my favorite deals at the grocery stores this week!  Prices are good through February 19th (except at Sprouts where prices are good through February 20th).

Head over here to load a new coupon for $3 off your $50 purchase onto your Fry’s VIP card.  (this works better on a desktop or laptop computer, or you can try using Fry’s facebook page on your phone)

Download the Ibotta app here if you haven’t already. This is a great way to start earning money for things you’re already buying (I have gotten literally hundreds of dollars back from the grocery stores and other stores too). So many Alicia’s Deals readers are having great time using it and saving, if you’re not you’re really missing out…lets all save more in 2019!  You can get a $10 bonus just for signing up and using the app and you’ll earn money back from your purchases at grocery stores  including Walmart, Sprouts, Fry’s, Safeway, Whole Foods, WinCo Foods, Albertsons, Dollar Tree, and more (think $7 back on Bud or Bud Light, $1.05 back on Health-Ade Kombucha, $.95 back on Dave’s Killer Bread Bagels, $2 back on Revlon lip products, $.75 off Justin Nut Butter Cups, lots and lots of cash back on wine and beer, and more)! The cash back is in addition to any sales or coupons you have (many items you can double up the savings), and it goes right into your Paypal account (or you can get gift cards). You just redeem the offer and upload a picture of your receipt, NO COUPONS REQUIRED!

Be sure to print off all of the February coupons.com coupons you’ll use before they’re gone! Current (as of now while I’m typing this) coupons include:  $2 off OxiClean Laundry Detergent, $5 off one Aveeno suncare product, $.50 off Windex, $2 off one Almay product, $1.50 off Tylenol Cold or Sudafed,  and lots more. You can use coupons along with Ibotta money back. This is seriously money back in your pocket (or Paypal account which is basically the same thing)!

For even more detailed coupon match ups, check out another great Arizona blog Bargain Believer (www.bargainbeliever.com) by my friend Juli that could save you a lot of money at the grocery store. You’ll be able to make and print off your list right on her site.

New Research Says Reading Before Kindergarten is a Big Deal…Check Out the Book That Helped My Kids Learn (Best $13.87 I Could Have Spent)!

A parenting article caught my eye last week. A Harvard professor (Ronald Ferguson) and journalist (Tasha Robertson) claim to have found the “formula” to raising successful children. Head over here to check out the full article and head over here to check out their new book The Formula: Unlocking the Secrets to Raising Highly Successful Children.

They found that the high achievers they studied had one thing in common…most of them could read before they entered Kindergarten.

Enter a book that helped my family greatly (Amazon says I bought this nine years ago, wow the kids grow fast!). If you have a child you think is ready to learn to read, head over here to score the book Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons. It’s $13.87 right now on Amazon (remember they can raise prices at anytime).

“Is your child halfway through first grade and still unable to read? Is your preschooler bored with coloring and ready for reading? Do you want to help your child read, but are afraid you’ll do something wrong?

Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons is a complete, step-by-step program that shows parents simply and clearly how to teach their children to read.

Twenty minutes a day is all you need, and within 100 teaching days your child will be reading on a solid second-grade reading level. It’s a sensible, easy-to-follow, and enjoyable way to help your child gain the essential skills of reading. Everything you need is here—no paste, no scissors, no flash cards, no complicated directions—just you and your child learning together. One hundred lessons, fully illustrated and color-coded for clarity, give your child the basic and more advanced skills needed to become a good reader.”

This probably isn’t the perfect book for everyone but I truly believe it gave my kids more confidence starting Kindergarten. I recommend it highly.  I don’t think there’s a better way to spend $13.87 (truly an example of living life BETTER for less)!

Enjoy and cheers to reading!
