If you’d like to remember and learn more about our great Senator John McCain, Harkins Theatres is giving us all the opportunity to see the new documentary “For Whom the Bell Tolls” for FREE this Sunday, September 2nd at 4 PM. The showings will be taking place at Harkins Camelview at Fashion Square and Harkins Sedona 6. Head over here for more information on their Twitter page.
John McCain’s family has been in our family’s thoughts and prayers all week. So beautiful to see the tributes to a man who always wanted to unite us. I remember running into him when I was a child hiking with my parents and siblings near Sedona. He was so nice to us, shook all of our hands, and looked us in the eye. I was so impressed with him especially when my dad told me about all he had been through. Wish there were more like him in politics. He makes us all proud to be from Arizona. Rest In Peace Senator McCain ❤.
It’s the last day (8/29) to head over here and score an extra 25% off Groupons with code FF25. This is EXCELLENT savings on top of savings!

Head over here to pick up a BBQ Picnic Package from Can’t Stop Smokin BBQ for $22.50 with code FF25 (a $55.94 value). Note: You must buy the voucher (here’s a link straight to it) then bring it to the restaurant (good at the 2650 East University Drive, Mesa, AZ 85213 location or the 7250 W Chandler Blvd, Chandler, AZ 85226 location).
Check out what’s included:
- “One pound of beef brisket, tri-tip, pork ribs, or beef ribs
- One pound of any other meat
- Two medium sides or three salads of any size

The restaurant gets great reviews! This sounds much easier than cooking for a Labor Day get together to me (call stores for hours).

Love tacos? Head over here to score a ticket to the Arizona Taco Festival for $6 with code FF25 (code good through 8/29, tickets usually $13.83)! NOTE: I would buy each ticket individually so you get the $2 off every single one (you can use code FF25 up to three times per account).
The festival is happening 10/14 at Salt River Fields at Talking Stick.
“The Arizona Taco Festival celebrates the Mexican food favorite with a weekend of taco tastings, live entertainment, and interactive events. Each day, more than 50 teams prepare samples of their unique recipes for chicken, beef, pork, or seafood tacos, all competing for cash prizes.
Meanwhile, a special expo on Saturday features more than 100 types of boutique tequila, and live entertainment ranges from lucha libre wrestling to a chihuahua beauty pageant. Other events include chili-pepper-eating contests and live bands playing festive reggae and mariachi sets.”
If you’re looking for something exciting to do you could head over here to get an all day pass to H2-WHOA in Lake Pleasant for just $40 (a $75 value). If you buy passes for four you’ll pay $129 (a $300 value). That comes out to $32.25 a person!
“What You’ll Get:

The Fine Print

Taking a dip in the nearest body of water is a must come summer’s scorching temps, but H2-WHOA redefines the word “dip”. That’s because its 32-foot high, 80-foot long slides, each ending in a ramp of varying steepness, rocket swimmers up into the air before plummeting them into the cool depths of Lake Pleasant below. The towering colossus is designed for thrill-seekers, letting them catch massive air, flipping and twisting off one of H2-WHOA’s three connected slides. And safety is of high priority here too, with every guest required to wear a life jacket and a resident lifeguard sitting watch.”
If you feel like a nice night out, head over here to get $80 to spend at Donovan’s Steak and Chop House for $45 or $180 to spend there for $90. This is my husband’s favorite restaurant and I think this would make for an excellent Father’s Day gift.

Thanks so much for tuning into my 3TV Your Life Arizona segment on fun March deals and freebies you’ll love! Please tell a friend about my site too so we can all “live life better for less” together. You can also find out first about the latest and greatest bargains when you “like” Alicia’s Deals on Facebook and follow me on Twitter. Mother’s Day is Sunday and you don’t have to spend a lot of money to let mom know how much you love her.
My favorite food of all time is bread, and when I saw this deal I knew I had to share it with everyone! If you take mom out to Wildflower Bread Company on Mother’s Day she’ll get to take home a free loaf of their delicious honey wheatberry bread (while supplies last). They have the most delicious salads and lots of brunch favorites.
Speaking of food, I have a new favorite restaurant and a deal to go along with it! The Persian Room is in North Scottsdale and their food is incredible. Head over here to get $20 to spend on two entrees for $9.60 with code MOM2. You can’t use it on Mother’s Day, but you could give it as a gift for a future date (mom wants as much time with you as possible). Two of my best friends took me here for my birthday and I still can’t stop talking about the incredible bread, hummus, roasted meats and vegetables, special rice, and everything else I tried. I saved the leftovers for my daughter and she can’t wait to go herself!
One thing mom would love is a yard without bugs! Head over here to pick up a Flowtron Electronic Insect Killer for $45.88, usually $64.99. If you have Prime you should get it in time for Mother’s Day with free two day shipping. I have this in my yard and I’m SHOCKED how well it works. I used to get mosquito bites all the time, now I don’t! It covers an acre area.
Finally, I am thrilled about a new freebie at Hallmark called Free Card Fridays. “The scorching Arizona sun beats down on Adobe Dam Regional Park, but visitors to Wet ‘n’ Wild Phoenix keep cool as they splash throughout more than 30 waterslides and attractions. The 35-acre facility is home to an abundance of adrenaline-pumping rides—including a towering tandem water coaster, a spiraling 45-foot funnel, and a four-story six-lane speedway—to contrast its more laid-back attractions, including an interactive playground and 450,000-gallon wave pool. The junior water park accommodates younger guests with kid-friendly funnels, rivers, and racing slides. Food and beverage carts traverse the grounds, while an onsite restaurant, cafes, and pubs fuel fun with full meals, snacks, and drinks. To ensure guest safety, a vigilant staff of lifeguards patrols the park and will swiftly kick out sharks who’ve shrewdly disguised themselves in bikinis and sun hats.”
