If you’ve already bought a big holiday gift and see it go on sale, don’t hesitate to take it back and get the better deal if you’re within the return window. At Banana Republic, Gap, and Old Navy, they have a price adjustment policy that has saved me a lot through the years. If you bring your receipt back within 14 days, they’ll scan it and automatically give you money back if the items you bought went on sale. You don’t have to have the items with you, just the receipt! If you’re already at the mall, it makes sense to stop in the store and have the receipt scanned. I’ve saved as much as $50 on one receipt!
