I had the pleasure of trying Street Cafe in Scottsdale last week and it was such a great experience! Head over here to check them out on facebook. They offer huge breakfasts for $6 and lunches for $7. Think about them for catering, the prices are very reasonable. The money raised all goes to help hungry kids. They’re located at 10435 N. Scottsdale Road and open Monday-Friday from 8AM-2PM. The food is delicious and the idea behind the place is even better.  I loved meeting the people who run the place and even two long time Alicia’s Deals readers who are Street Cafe regulars.

“Bags of Hope provide the nutrition necessary to properly fuel a child’s body and brain; allowing him/her to live a healthier life, attend school more regularly, score (on average) 12% better in reading and (on average) 26% better in math… A Bag of Hope (weekend food) paves the way for a better tomorrow for kids in need.”

Healthy food can do so much for our children’s health, minds, and souls. I want to bring my kids to help pack food backpacks.

They explain their mission on thir website:

“We at Street Cafe believe:
~In real food consciously prepared, we strive to know our growers and harvesters both for our food and coffee beans
~Eating should nourish the soul, the senses, the mind and the body
~You get what you pay for, we are focused on providing food and beverage value at all times
~In creating a positive work environment; provide a place where people can feel good about what they do and earn a living wage while doing it
~In having fun (especially at work), eating well, living consciously
~In accommodating your needs; we do an amazing job with special requests
~In taking care of each other and the environment:
*fresh, natural, healthy ingredients
*energy efficiency
*recycling and composting
*biodegradable containers & utensils
*supporting our community and  helping those in need
~In celebrating the blessings, sharing them at all times and being the salt and light to those who grace us with their patronage

Street Café & Coffee Lounge is owned and operated by 501c3 Kitchen on the Street in an effort to provide a hand-up to people in need.

Kitchen on the Street is a nonprofit organization founded by husband and wife Vince and Lisa Scarpinato.  The organization provides food assistance to low-income families with a special emphasis on households with children.

The Bags of Hope (food backpack) program serves food insecure children with weekend meals and snacks. Currently 1,500 children receive a Bag of Hope each weekend of the school year!  Sadly there are another 600+ children on a waiting list, waiting for weekend food. Purchases made at Street Cafe & Coffee Lounge provide financial support to the Bags of Hope program.

Both perishable and nonperishable food donations are gladly accepted at Street Cafe!

To learn more, become a volunteer or come alongside in serving the hungry and hurting of our community please visit www.KitchenOnTheStreet.org.”

Enjoy, you will love this place!
