What a wonderful deal at The Tulip Tree in Glendale (59th Avenue and Bell). They are giving away a dozen roses to anyone who asks (they have 4000 total to give away). The idea is that you keep one and give one to 11 other people, spreading the joy.
From 3TV:
“With its origins going back before the Sept. 11 attacks changed our world, Pass It On Day did not always coincide with what has become a national day of remembrance.
As Haenel explained, it used to be on the second Wednesday of September. In 2002, the year after the 9/11 terror attacks, the second Wednesday of September fell on Sept. 11. A light bulb lit in Haenel’s head and she decided Pass It On Day should always be on Sept. 11.
“It would become a whole lot more meaningful that just saying ‘thank you’ to people,” she explained.”
I just called them and they said while they’ve been hit hard this morning, there are still a few roses left. I would definitely call 602-978-3097 to confirm they’re not out of stock before you make a special trip.
Thanks Good Morning Arizona!
