“Who’s in charge: veteran Arizona Cardinals receiver Larry Fitzgerald, a nine-time Pro Bowler who has racked up more than 1,000 catches and 13,000 yards in his career
Who else participates: Though this year’s roster of celebrity athletes and coaches has yet to be announced, it will assuredly be studded with big names. Past participants include the likes of Donovan McNabb, Kurt Warner, and NBA Hall of Famer Gary Payton.
Whom it benefits: Fitzgerald’s own First Down Fund, an effort that provides support to organizations across the country looking to provide positive activities for kids so they don’t spend every day after school throwing rocks at their homework
What to expect: Celebrity athletes will launch balls into orbit during a Home Run Derby at 6 p.m., with the actual game beginning at 7 p.m. Fans in attendance will also have the chance to collect autographs and bid on memorabilia.”
If you have a dog you’re probably starting to think about getting them a summer haircut! We just took our little Cockapoo Sunny to FurBabies for grooming in Scottsdale last week and they did a great job! She looked wonderful but my favorite part was how happy Sunny seemed there.
Founder of FurBabies Resort and Spa, Heather Budde, was sick of feeling guilty every time she dropped her furry loved one off at a pet vacation home that resembled a jail. So she took it into her own hands to create a resort and spa for dogs that would be a comfortable and inviting experience for both pet and owner. Every personal suite at the resort comes equipped with a TV to play doggie movies all day. While the spa relaxes dogs, providing paw-dicures, blueberry facials, and pup massages, all of which use natural and organic ingredients.”
Sunny had the biggest smile when we picked here up and they even gave her an adorable bandana.

It’s a great time to buy a new car. The lots need to make room for the new models and may have excellent deals now.
My tips to getting the best deals:
Competition almost always helps you. Get multiple quotes from multiple dealers. They all want to beat each other and you can get quotes online without leaving your home. I always ask for an out the door price (including tax and all fees).
Keep in mind that there might be secret incentives on the car you want. Secret incentives can be $1000-$6000 in addition to known rebates. Invoice is usually not the price the dealer actually paid for your car.
Remember the power of walking out. If a negotiation isn’t going the way you want, leave!
Head over here to check out edmunds.com. They’ll have dealerships competing for your business (and the whole process can be a lot easier). Remember, I always ask for the out the door price! If you can pay cash (or get a loan somewhere else if there aren’t great financing options) you’ll know exactly what you’re paying. Try to negotiate the trade in separately from the car price.
It’s a great time to go on vacation (between the busy summer and holiday travel times) and score deals! San Diego has over 100 KIDS FREE deals. Kids will eat free, stay free, even play free.
Check out some of my favorite deals:
Kids 3-11 get in free to the San Diego Zoo (limit 10 kids per paid adult per their public relations…great for single parents or if one parent is working during the day)
note: Alicia’s Deals posts may contain affiliate links or sponsored content. I only post deals that I would (and almost always do) use that will help you “live life better for less.” Thanks for being part of the site I’m so glad you’re here!
