Do you love cheese? This has to be one of the most fun posts I’ve done. Albertsons asked me to put together a cheese board with some of their beautiful ingredients (it took me literally less than half a second to say yes). To make the project even sweeter, they gave me a cheese basket to give away to one lucky reader (see details below, retail value around $100)!
Lucky for us, ALL specialty cheeses at Albertsons will be going on sale soon!
Here’s what I picked up for our board (I like sweet/savory and crunchy/creamy contrast):
Hoffman’s Natural Vermont Cheddar Cheese
Monet Mini Original water crackers
Dietz and Watson Mini Salame
Roasted almonds
Dried apricots
Primizie Handmade snack crisps
Kalamata olives (from the olive bar)
Dietz and Watson Salame Panino (hot salame rolled in mozzarella cheese..pretty and so good)
La Bonne Vie Triple Creme Brie
Savannah Bee Co. Honey for Cheese
Raspberries
To make the baked brie I preheated the oven to 350 degrees. I put the brie on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper and drizzled it with the Savannah Bee Co. honey for cheese (I remember when Ina Garten put brie with honey and have loved it ever since). I would definitely recommend this honey, it really added a nice flavor to the baked brie. I baked for around 7-8 minutes and plated it with raspberries on top (SO EASY even I could do it). It was absolutely DELICIOUS with the Primizie handmade crisp breads.
The board with the cheddar, mozzarella, apricots, olives, water crackers, and salame was really easy to put together too. It made for a wonderful Friday night dinner with a glass of wine.
A nice cheese board is one of the easiest things to make (there is no cooking ability required), and can make a huge impression on your guests.
Here’s how you can enter to win a cheese basket worth around $100 from Albertsons (cheese lovers will DEFINITELY want to apply):
1. Build your perfect cheese board
2. Take a picture and post it on the Alicia’s Deals facebook page or on Twitter (please tag #aliciasdeals).
I’ll pick a winner on November 26th.
Enjoy and I can’t wait to see what you can do with cheese!
We are all going to have beautiful starters this holiday season. 🙂
