“The entire excursion lasts about 3.5 hours. Guests arrive in time to watch the balloon inflate as the sun rises. Then, pilots propel as many as 12 passengers through clear blue skies for up to 60 minutes as they take in the picturesque views.
Afterward, guests are treated to a commemorative flight certificate, a champagne toast, and a light snack, over which the crew discusses the history of hot-air balloons.
The company’s year-round balloon flights depart at sunrise, toting riders into the sky over the valley with seasoned pilots at the helm. Though each flight’s route varies based on the weather and wind direction, passengers may be able to soak in views of Mingus Mountain, the Verde River, and Tuzigoot National Monument. Occasionally, flights can rise to a high enough altitude to allow sightseers to glimpse locales as far as Sedona or the San Francisco peaks at the base of the Colorado Plateau. Verde Valley is also the only hot-air balloon company permitted to fly over the Prescott National Forest.”
