“Your Groupon shows Redeemed as soon as you buy. That’s normal: your membership starts right away and will expire 12 months from the date you purchased.
Step 1 — Purchase
Select your Gold Star ($65/year) or Executive ($130/year) membership. You’ll receive a confirmation email with your new 12-digit membership number, and after setting up your account, you can shop on Costco.com immediately. Keep this email; you’ll need that number to verify your membership.

Step 2 — Get Your Physical Membership Card
Visit any Costco warehouse with a valid photo ID to get your physical membership card. Your household member can also get their complimentary membership card the same way. A physical card is not required for online shopping or to receive your Digital Costco Shop Card, but you need a physical card or the Costco app to purchase in the warehouses.

Step 3 — Create Your Costco.com Account & Verify Membership
Go to Costco.com and select Create Account. Enter your email address, send the verification code, and set a password. Use the same email address you used for your Groupon purchase. Then go to Account Details → Costco Wallet, enter your 12-digit membership number, and click Verify Membership. If you’re unable to verify your account online, please visit the membership counter at your local Costco warehouse for assistance.

Step 4 — Digital Costco Shop Card Delivery
Download the Costco app and sign in. Your $45 Digital Costco Shop Card is loaded directly into your Costco Wallet within 2 weeks of successful sign-up. Costco will email you once your funds have been added, and you can check your Costco Wallet anytime in the app. You’ll need the app to use your Digital Costco Shop Card in-warehouse; you can also view funds and apply them to online purchases at Costco.com under Account → Costco Wallet.

• Important: The $45 Digital Costco Shop Card is available to new members only, or those who haven’t held a Costco Membership in the past 18 months. If you already have an active membership, this offer won’t apply, and the Digital Costco Shop Card will not be issued.
