Here’s what I did (I called to confirm that were eligible as part of the promotion and got the deal this afternoon):

I went to C3 and bought an iced tea (they have really delicious tea). I have lunch there all the time! I would have shopped more but I was running short on time that day!

Then I went to the Scottsdale Quarter management office with my tea receipt and bought a $450 Visa gift card. There was a $2 fee but I figured since I used my credit card, I’m getting more than that in cash back. I’ll use the gift card everywhere they accept Visa until it’s gone (I hate carrying cash and always use my card and pay it off at the end of the month, so it won’t change how I do things except for using another card until it’s gone). The tea and the gift card counted as buying things in two separate shops or restaurants, so I got the voucher for the FREE night at the Westin Kierland.

We made our reservation and are so excited! Using my Visa gift card has been working out great, I just recommend that you read the information that comes with it so you know how it works!

The Scottsdale Quarter management office is open Monday-Friday from 9-5 and is located next to Urban Outfitters.
