Check out a little bit more information about the event:

“Cultivate Phoenix encourages attendees to think and talk about food and food issues, as well as how to create a more sustainable future. While many festival-goers come for the entertainment, the free festival also offers interactive experiences for all ages to learn something new about how food is raised and prepared.

At the festival, renowned chefs from Phoenix and around the country will offer cooking demonstrations and seminars. Additionally, six national musical acts will perform throughout the day, including Young the Giant, Echosmith, Lukas Graham, Betty Who, Holychild and Jared & The Mill.

The high-profile chefs involved with Cultivate Phoenix are working to make positive changes in the nation’s food supply. Participating in Cultivate Phoenix allows these chefs to bring awareness to the public while demonstrating the impact food has on society and the importance of food that is raised right. The lineup of featured chefs includes Aaron Sanchez (Chef/Partner at Johnny Sanchez in New Orleans and Baltimore, host of Cooking Channel’s Taco Trip, and judge on Food Network’s “Chopped”); Amanda Freitag (co-host of Food Network’s “American Diner Revival,” judge on “Chopped,” and author of “The Chef Next Door”); Chris Bianco (Pizzeria Bianco in Phoenix and Tucson, and Pane Bianco in Phoenix); Stephen Jones (the larder + the delta); and Charleen Badman (FnB Restaurant) with Pavle Milic (FnB Restaurant, Los Milics Wine).

Chipotle will be serving up burritos, tacos and menu items from ShopHouse Southeast Asian Kitchen, Chipotle’s Asian concept. Each dish will be made using fresh, responsibly grown ingredients.

The festival will have an Artisans’ Hall featuring local artisanal desserts and sweet treats for purchase. Wine, beer and hard cider from local Phoenix breweries and wineries will be available for those 21 and older to purchase at the Tasting Hall. Chipotle has also partnered with three nationally acclaimed breweries, including Phoenix-based Arizona Wilderness to create a “Cultivate Mexican Lager” brewed exclusively for the three 2016 Cultivate festivals in Phoenix, Kansas City and Miami.

Cultivate Phoenix includes interactive experiences focused on sustainable food, and a Kids’ Zone with activities and snacks for the entire family. The experiences will allow attendees to explore the importance of animal welfare; issues surrounding genetically modified foods, or GMOs; the secret to making Chipotle’s famous guacamole; the reality of processed foods; and best practices for preparing food safely.
