Groceries take a big bite out of the paycheck, but when you know what’s on sale, you can save a ton of money.
Here are my top tips at the grocery stores this week:
Make sure you have the app or at least that you’re signed up for the rewards program for the store you’re going to. Albertsons, Safeway, Bashas‘, Fry’s, and Sprouts all have apps and websites that give you extra digital deals when you take the time to look for them.
The new grocery ads come out each Wednesday and are good through the following Tuesday. Make sure you look through them, or head to dealsinaz.com to check out my favorites so you know what’s on sale where. If you have time to make a couple of stops, you can save big.
If you’re 55 or better, you get 10% off groceries at Albertsons, Bashas’, Fry’s, and Safeway on the first Wednesday of each month. That means THIS WEDNESDAY (August 5th) is Senior Discount Day. I will embrace this discount when I turn 55!
Make sure you have the Ibotta app on your phone (head over here to get it if you don’t). You’ll get extra discounts off things you’re probably already buying at the store. You’ll also get a $10 bonus after you redeem your first deal. This week you can get $1.50 back when you buy Dave’s Killer Bread, $3 back when you buy Chips Ahoy cookies, $3 back when you buy Magnum ice cream bars, $10 back when you buy Claritin, and other fun deals.
