The State Fair is so much fun for the whole family, but it can be EXPENSIVE!
Check out my top 5 ways to have just as much fun for less:

Adults will pay $20 at the gate, but EVERYONE can bring eight cans of food on Fridays from noon until 7 PM to get in free. You’ll have fun at the fair and feed the poor; definitely a win/win! You’ll need eight cans for each free ticket; head over here for all of the details.

Also on Fridays, all 93 food vendors will offer $5 tasting portions of iconic faves from noon to 6 PM. I have a list of ALL available $5 goodies here. I’m personally excited about the small loaded nachos at Alicia’s Mexican Kitchen. Love her name.

The State Fair knows that reading and fun go together. Kids 5-14 can fill out Read and Ride Reports to get up to three free rides. An adult 18+ must be present with the child picking up the free rides, and printable reports are available here.

Saturday, October 17th from noon-4 PM, everyone can get free admission for Rafi Day when they attempt the Rafi look-alike contest. You must register and request your free tickets through this link. Winners will take home up to $ 3,000; there’s $15,000 up for grabs.

Don’t pay for parking! The regular lot will cost $20 per car, but if you park at the FREE Phoenix College starting at 5 PM Friday, they’ll offer complimentary shuttles to the entrance. Saturday and Sunday, the free shuttles will run starting at 12 PM. Head over here for more details.
Smart, savvy planners like you have just as much fun—for a fraction of the price.

Groceries take a big bite out of every wallet, and if you know what’s on sale, you’ll save big.
This week, Fry’s offers Foster Farms whole chickens, drumsticks, or thighs for just $ 0.99/lb. They’re also offering a free bag of Private Selection Gourmet potatoes when you buy one, and Kroger Veggie Trays for just $9.99 each…perfect for game day. Head over here for the full weekly ad.

Aldi, voted the least expensive grocery store in AZ, is offering large pumpkins for $3.95/each, limes for $.15/each, beautiful caramel apples for $2.99/3-pack, and multicolored peppers for $2.39/3 pack. Head over here to check out the full weekly ad.

Bashas’ is offering frozen containers of Yasso Greek Yogurt for 3 for $10. These are DELICIOUS, have tons of protein, and are usually $6.99/each. To make the deal even better, the Ibotta app has been offering $ 3 back per container, so if you redeem it in time, you could technically get three containers for $1 total after cash back (usually over $20). Head over here for the full weekly ad.

Albertsons and Safeway are offering boneless, skinless chicken breasts for $1.99/lb., russet potatoes for $.99/ 5 lb. bag, and Bartlett pears for $.99/lb. They’re also offering Signature Select canned vegetables for $.69/each which is an EXCELLENT price if you’re stocking up for free Fridays at the fair. Head over here for the full weekly ad.
